Colombian record label From the Void Above is back in the game after a brief hiatus, returning with a fresh 4-tracker featuring none other than label co-owner Buraye. The Bogotá-based artist has carved out a name for himself in the local electronic music scene through his signature acid-infused electro sound, and he’s now gaining well-deserved recognition through a variety of gigs and cool projects he takes part in.
We start our musical journey today with “Singularidad” on side B1. Machine-like synths blend seamlessly with the intriguing vocals that open up the track. Halfway through the piece, we reach the climax moment, shortly followed by the punchy melodic line and pulsating kicks that characterize the track.
A mysterious, narrating voice weaves through the hypnotic synths of “La Abducción de Lily Parker” on side A1. A great testament to Buraye’s eclecticism and ability to blend various textures in his creative process.
“La Mente Colectiva” on A2 joins the party with subtle, muffled female vocals wrapped in acid-tinged rhythms and pulsating breakbeats, a certified club weapon built to energize any dancefloor in no time.
Closing out the EP is “Hyperbolic Geometry”, a funky, club-ready piece crafted to set the mood in just about any setting.
