Premiere: B1 – Anderson – Gangsta.vox [TYD002]

Anderson shapes the second release for Mari.te‘s Tresydos imprint following the well-received debut late last year from Argentinian artist Neik, with a remix from Noha.

‘Gangsta.vox’ flits between airy synths and pummeling kicks to really balance things out. The addition of the acid lines and equally floating vocal snips that breath in and out of the track offers up a great package of sounds. The arrival of gated pads just before the main break really helps to give this an old school rave feel to the track and as such will have no problems getting a rousing reaction on the dancefloor.

While over on A1, An intelligent arrangement stands out in the title track ‘Description’. Slick broken beats gradually evolve amongst a net of tripping textures, with kick patterns drifting in and out of the 4/4 spectrum to tranquilizing effect. The psychedelic edge remains throughout a seven-minute duration, with sultry vocals darting between a sharp acid-tinged bassline.

Anderson establishes a polished palate falling between delicate and peak time energies. The low end is packed with punch, cementing a place on the dance floor whilst maintaining an introspective edge through gentle distortion and fragility.

The EP carries four strong original tracks from the US-based artist, meandering through a variance of moods executed through the minimalistic lens of Anderson.
