Swiss label H:B:E:M Records, founded six years ago by Antonio Di Benedetto aka Amilcare and Alfonso Bianco, presents its fifth vinyl release featuring no fewer than five different artists: Miki, Solar Data, Auto Union, Code Operator, and Agent FylFoyt. The journey of this record stretches back to the early ’90s, with Auto Union’s track on B1 produced in 1991 and Agent FylFoyt’s contribution following in 1995 on B3.
Our premiered track, Solar Data’s “Echoes Of Time” on side A2, dives straight into sonic experimentation. Shifting SFX that gradually drift into FM territory to build tension open up the track. A classic acid 303 line locks in with a heavy sub layer, while crisp 909 percussion drives the rhythm. A rhythmic lead cuts through, joined midway by unexpected chords that add an impactful twist.
“The Postman”, Miki’s track on side A1, is layered with squeaky synths that shape the track’s backbone, guiding its flow alongside warped modular tones. With its steady bass and raw, live-recording energy, the piece offers a hasty and organic feeling.
Flipping over to the B-side, Auto Union’s “Global Zero” on B1 brings a more melodic touch. Trance-infused synths interact with the drums’ playfulness, while subtle dub techno nuances add undeniable charm to this mystical journey. Crafted in 1991, the track bridges old-school depth with timeless grooves.
Code Operator’s “Intuition” on B2 layers ethereal synths over spacey textures, guided by a sharp lead and a steady, punchy groove. Psychedelic and psychoacoustic effects add charm to the soundscape, pulling the listener deeper into its hypnotic vortex.
Closing the record, Agent FylFoyt’s “Try 4 Justice” on side B3 delivers a disco-infused groover. Crafted in 1995, this catchy masterpiece, layered with playful drum variations and spacey vibes, sends the listener straight into a captivating outer-spatial journey.
