We’re hosting the Seattle-based Soft Spoken Secret label for the second time, and today, we’ll feature the original piece, not the remix, as we did previously. Rio Kawamoto is the main man today.
Starting our review with “Vib-Ribbon”, a marching, hard-kicking piece that will make any peaktime peaktimeier. And with its 8-bit samples all the way, it will also entertain you while you’re doing your best dance moves on the dancefloor.
The original version of “Your Girlfriend’s Favorite DJ” features a different arrangement of marching drums, accompanied by our favorite electro-house buzz (not the hardest one, but, believe me, you’ll feel it very well). Finally, the remix by Jay Tripwire. Much lighter, much trippier, think about the long, minimalistic, and groovy afterhours here.
A very solid EP, just like their previous one, that is sold-out already. Can easily imagine the same with this second one, so don’t miss it at Deejay, Decks, Redeye, or wherever you’re buying your wax.
