Tancido, the label from Ukraine, is quickly becoming something bigger than just a label, preparing its fourth release already. This time is a compilation with the names of Darren Allen, Dɘiv, and O’FortyFour. And, since we just had O’FortyFour on Twig, the choice was between Dɘiv and Mr. Allen.
We decided to pick “New Standard” by Dɘiv. Its super hard kicks took us on a hook from the first second, just to feed us a little spoken word part in the middle as another option. Something, that could be considered as a tool – as you may know already, this is my favorite category.
The record starts with a much lighter piece – “LL888” by Darren Allen. Its deep start evolves into something that could be described as the electro-house from the box. I wouldn’t call it stripped-down, but it has something inside, that makes it sound like from a background or so. Interesting.
O’FortyFour has a whole side for himself and it starts with “Pan Perehvat” – a broken piece with some trippy atmosphere inside. “Stoned & Filthy” is another example of Eugene’s love for the deep and growling sounds. This time with a very long introduction part and straight beats.
The pre-sale is in full effect, grab your copy at Juno, Deejay, or some other record store ASAP!

This article was written in Ukraine. Ukraine is in the middle of the war with Russia right now. Would be great if you could donate to the biggest Ukrainian volunteer fund here. Also, you can pick any music initiative, that is also trying to help from our list here. We’ll be stronger together.
