Premiere: A1 – Shaolin Fantastic – Dryed Eyes [SPOON005]

Beginning life last year Spoon Musique welcomed Shaolin Fantastic to inaugurate the label with a groove-laden 2 track EP and since then the imprint has become a haven for top artists producing white-hot tracks under a range of aliases. These illustrious artists include Martinez under his Ambiguous State moniker, Gojnea aka g76 and Topper under his Dead Rail alias.

Returning for the fifth installment of Spoon is Shaolin Fantastic which just so happens to be the alias of Turkish-born Swiss-raised artist ALCI. Heading straight to A1 ‘Dryed Eyes’ combines a soulful vocal and string arrangement with a bleeped out snappy minimal groove and the result is a bouncy feelgood track that would work well on a number of different dancefloors.

This soulful turn of pace is what has helped ALCI to straddle both the house and minimal worlds with great ease, his releases on Robsoul as well as respected minimal labels such as Meander, Apollonia and Æternum Music prove this beyond any shadow of a doubt. Few artists are able to pull off the soulful edge in hand with a reductionist groove as well as ALCI on ‘Dryed Eyes’ and this cut is surely going to be finding its way into the bags and sets of the big hitters looking to inject some upbeat joy into their sets.

Pre-sale is now active over at deejay.de.
