Seekers boss Alex Picone delivers the first disc from the upcoming four-part vinyl series recently announced by his label and artist Liquid Earth & Tornado Wallace aka Dinnervision are up first with their track ‘A Little Nucleus’.
Split across a series of records titled ‘ENERGY (MIND)’, ‘SPACE (SPIRIT)’, TIME (SOUL), the eclectic crew showcase a lively palate of emotion and energies throughout the release.
Dialing into a peak time vibe in the opening cut, ‘A Little Nucleus’ is the perfect insight into the spirited and curious ethos of the collective. Liquid Earth & Tornado Wallace’s persistent presence within the USA and European club circuit has been a tastemaker for a number of years.
Percussions are lean and agile in the featured premiere. Whipping slippery hats and short, snappy snares around a tight bassline loads the track with drive. An element of old-school motives oozes into the vibe, as well as being coated with subtle analogue warmth, sprinkling in a playful cowbell and twitchy acid tweaks that could easily be straight from 1990.
Sultry melodies seep steadily into the mix, bringing a lush contrast to the drum machine heavy rhythms, prior to diving into full rave mode. Sharp stabs welcome the track’s first real breakdown, spouting explosive, sigh-of-relief-like energy, before swiping back into dance floor gold.
Loaded with an obvious feeling of passion and drive, it’s the kind of expressive club track we are all gasping to hear at loud volumes upon the return to clubland. The record is the first of four, which will be available both individually and as part of the four vinyl & 90-minute cassette package.
