Premiere: A1 – Lanzieri – Dorne [FM007]

Lanzieri - Flight Mode record artwork

Swiss label Flight Mode present a four tracker by Lanzieri, an electro charged EP coming in hot from Montevideo. ‘Night Vision’ marks a special moment for the platform, which has been heavily influenced by the Uruguayan sound. Lanziere offers his own signature and it starts with ‘Dorne’.

It’s hard not be hooked from the first moment, as the big, droning bassline takes hold. The beat chugs through a vicious mist, unnerving and dirty, the twisted sounds of techno. As squelchy as you like, the bold buzz manipulates a transcendence into different realms. Captivating in its journey, pulling you down to the depths.

‘Strega’ follows on, a lighter narrative but the beat hits just as hard. Percussion is precise, sharply steering the rhythm over a bubbling line of acid. Lifted by a raucous synth that dashes through the motions. Lanzieri is marching through a darker blend, from one track to the next.

Flip over to the B side and it gets ever more naughty. ‘Reloj’ pummels with grimy electro, bending through soundscapes. Energy is simmering to boiling point as the announcement comes, the revolution is 909. Drum patterns remain simple but firm, with melodies dancing in between. Ready to bring some serious heat to sweat dripping, warehouse walls.

The EP closes out with ‘En Un Suspiro’. Navigating the end of a story that carries through sinister sonics and a whole world of distorted textures.

Buy the record from deejay.de or Juno, due for release on 30th November.
