Premiere: A1 – Donnie Cosmo – Signs Of Life [PE014]

Baldo’s Physical Education label is ready with its next joint. This time with Colombian Donnie Cosmo aboard. 4 very physical and maybe even educational pieces. Let’s check all of them.

Starting with the track, that gave the name to the whole EP – “Signs Of Life”. We were promised a bit of “spaced-out slice of music”, and we got it. Quite delicate jam, that sounds like anything you could expect on Baldo’s label. Not a bigroom, let’s say mid-room this time. Echoes do their job well; progressiveness is felt well. Kind of what we were needing here, right?

Continuing with “Pump The Power”, that feels like a bit more powerful tune from the beginning, before the first mellow chords. The sample that we are used to hearing in Sally C’s or Furz’s tracks, opens for us a whole collection of distorted pieces of vocals and speeches. The B-side opener, “Gateway” is another, as I said, mid-room tune here, leaning a bit more into some tribalistic percussions. A very nice progressive 2.0 type of stuff. “The Xperiment”, the last one on the record is opening with a huge wink into some UKG territory. But that’s just another distorted vocal sample here. On the B2 position we’re having another delicate banger for 100 people in the crowd. Maybe 200, ok.

You heard the track, the whole EP is pretty much that way. If you have a feeling that it suits you – Subwax, Deejay, Decks or wherever you’re buying your wax.
