A 4-tracker by ADMNTi, on a brand new label (the name is FORMS), sounds rowdy as hell – what’s not to like, right?
“Second Hand Sushi” sounds just like you could imagine in that combination above. The kick slaps, the bassline buzzes, the energy is unbelievable. At the same time, the track is leaning much more into the category of tools, rather than the bangers. Which can mean only one thing – you can play it literally anywhere, when the situation requires something pacey, of course.
Continuing with “Lost Fruits”, where we can hear six minutes of non-boring 2-step. It’s hard to say something new in this genre, packed with the world of bangers over the last years, but the track has that futuristic feel, I would say, here, somehow. “Diptych” is a much smoother piece that, probably, should take us into the years where breakbeat-house was the king (it seems, it was SO long ago…). Finally, “Shurblands” … Dubstep? Again? Like on a recent Henriku’s EP? Should we call it a trend already? Hmm…
If you think you’re going to love the combination of tooly and breakbeaty house, 2-step and dubstep in one sleeve – Juno, Deejay, or hhv are waiting for you already.
