After a one-year hiatus that ended with a tremendous comeback, London-based label 199 owned by Richard Byers aka Front Bench keeps the release streak solid, announcing its third EP in less than two months since its debut, containing two club-ready bombers by Australian producers Will Regan and Mtty.
The first track of the release, Regan’s “Georgia” is in the spotlight for the day – a grungy house tune that has a precise trajectory within the first seconds, as it opens up with deep decisive bass tones, transcended by suggestive female vocals and cries that blend in smoothly with the discordant synths that flow erratically throughout the track almost until its end. A puzzling combination of sounds and rhythms that would keep any dancefloor hyped and focused.
Taking its name from the tom-driven pumps, the second track of the EP, “Tomz” by Mtty, is a party starter with infectious basslines and drums that get you in the mood from the very beginning of the track. With its classic house plucks accompanied by spatial paddy synths, this thrilling piece has all it needs to make an energized atmosphere when played.
