Premiere: 1 – Marko Nastić – Radioactive Carneval [AEC002]

Rising label and event series AfterEgo Chronicles, based in Zadar, Croatia, teams up with Serbian key figure Marko Nastić for its second digital release. Since launching last year, Roberto Brignani’s project has steadily carved out a space in the local circuit, curating a solid mix of events, podcasts, and digital releases that spotlight regional talent and add diversity to the scene.

Opening the EP with a raw dose of acid energy, our premiere track “Radioactive Carneval” plunges headfirst into 303 territory. Melodic arpeggiated leads drift in and out, weaving tension through a haze of mystifying vocals. A slow-burning acid trip that balances dancefloor hypnosis with melodic intensity.

On “Chronicles”, the vibe takes a sharper turn. A syncopated rhythm drives the groove forward in swinging eighths, with techno, electro, and progressive touches. Yet never fully surrendering to any of them. The breakdown gets particularly heady, a warped, trippy moment that briefly distorts the space-time of the set before snapping right back into the beat.

Boško Baloš steps in with a funk-infused reinterpretation of “Radioactive Carneval”, adding a charming vintage twist on it. A dusty funk sample anchors the groove while progressive textures float over top, preserving the arpeggiated leads that defined the original version but repurposing them in a sleeker, more driving context. It’s a clever flip, nostalgic, but forward-facing.

“Radioattivo” EP is available now, and it can be ordered on Bandcamp.
