Freshly launched Italian label Sensazione Stupenda Records, the newest project of the iconic event series under the same name, joins the world of labels with their first release “Movimento”. For the album, they have collaborated with no less than five Italian underground key-figures: DAT, Leon, Jamahr, and Miroloja (Julian Ripoli & Gianni Ripoli).
Starting off with the first track on the album, DAT’s “Not My Plan” and we can tell from its first moments that this certified banger will keep the crowds busy. A pumping bassline accompanied by funky vocals hits us right from the start, while squeaky rhytmhs and pulsating synths add character to the track.
Moving on to Jamahr’s “Reflex”, and we notice right away it’s infectious, garagey pads, complemented as the track progresses by tribal notes and playful drums, ensuring that the atmosphere is kept energized and vibrant.
Now, let’s take a look at “Diamonds”, the French-Italian duo Miroloja’s creation. A wavering bassline kicks off the start, soon to be accompanied by a flowing melodic line that keeps the energy bustling in a multitude of ways.
Last but not least, “Twilo”, Leon’s closing track explores a darker, slightly mysterious territory, with hollowed-out vocal layers hovering over the throbbing bassline that gives the piece its undeniable charm.
