French artists have long been a regular element in the minimal and micro house community and none have been as prevalent as Minibar boss Cabanne. Through his various aliases such as John Hut, K.O.D. and of course Narod Niki Jean-Guillaume Cabanne has certainly helped to shape the minimal landscape. A mainstay on labels such as Yoyaku, Perlon, Telegraph and Hello? Repeat Cabanne is a French institution.
A constant source of inspiration Cabanne was a firm fixture at the now sadly shuttered Parisian venue Concrete but this is just one of the legendary party spaces that regularly welcomes Cabanne. Club Der Visionaere, Rex Club, Panoramabar, Club Guesthouse all play host to this man’s skills behind the decks. A true master that stitches together many shades of minimal leaning sounds, fmor the super low basslines, to micro grooves and of course some downright soulful moments Cabnne’s mix is everything you expect it to be – masterclass.
