Italian artist Marco Pellegrino has grown to become a quite indispensable part of our community. Performing under the alias Ancut, he has carved out an enviable space for himself by way of his own Discarded Gems imprint and resulting DJ booking schedule. Based in Berlin, Marco is also in constant demand for mastering skills too and Analogcut is a very well known name in the underground and his name adorns many of our scenes’ vinyl artworks.
As you might expect from an artist of Ancut’s calibre and proven track record as a producer and mastering engineer, his recording for our InSession series is immaculately programmed. From the dreamlike intro that gradually melts away to reveal hypnotic thread that runs through much of the mix. Crispy percussion and a multi dimensional sound palette that feeds into the stream from a multitude of angles produces an intense and otherworldly experience. Soon getting up to speed Ancut shows why he is as revered as a DJ as he is an artist.
