Having massively impressed on their mix for our InSession series as well as subsequent releases for CORRESPONDANT and their own Creatures of the Night imprint, the Mexican pairing of Zombies In Miami have been in terrifying form. They have also paired this with an equally remarkable touring schedule which will include tonight’s addition to Ricardo Villalobos’ event in their native Mexico.
Now to the business at hand of Zombies in Miami’s Free Download and if it is possible to be both lush and sleazy at the same time, “What Ya Doing” is exactly that. Slippy percussion and bumpy basslines rub up against druggy vocal smears to create a juxtaposition that juggles both light and dark. Packaged within a compact upbeat house groove and you have yet another chapter in the ZIM story that grows more enchanting with every page turned.
