Spaniard Javier Carballo is undoubtedly one of the most seasoned artists in current rotation. With him flitting between his bases in London, Berlin, and his homeland, he covers a lot of ground. The same can be said about his productions as he has a rake of solo productions under his own name as well as projects “TERMS”, “LOOK PERRY”, and “HDZ”. Across these many guises, Javier touches on many sub-genres with ease and presents his talents on labels such as Just Waxx, White Tech, Circular Economy, Time To Panic, and Serialism Records. As well as being a producer with his finger on many pulses Javier is also a trusted pair of hands behind the decks. He has transplanted this magic into his own party series Pegatina which takes place at Les Enfants Brillants.
Javier’s productions can take a great many musical directions,m but for his Free Download track “Between” he has opted to drop a UK tech / progressive bomb. Built to destroy rooms big and small, from the outset it is straight to business with snarling bass tones and stripped-back percussion. Looking to build an unstoppable groove Javier lets the beats do much of the talking here with wiggly synths and haunting vocal clips punctuating the atmosphere. With more than a nod to the current and vintage progressive sound of the UK, Javier is well into his stride almost immediately and we are certain this will help detonate any party.
