Georgian artist Gio Shenghelia is next to showcase his talents on our Free Download series and we can’t wait to introduce him to you. Having performed at many of Georgia’s top venues, Gio is a well known face on the ground. As well as an impressive gig schedule, his co-founded Time Travel Stuff imprint, now on its second edition, is proving to be a buy on sight label. Producing under his own name and for the first edition of his label, under the joint alias Time Travellers.
Some countries and cities just have a sound, perhaps not even genre specific, but Georgia seems to go further than that. It can be house music, techno, and in this case electro, the intensity and energy that bleeds from every part of Gio’s “No Barking Dog”. What starts life as a breaky, electro acid squelcher soon benefits from the classic techno kick pattern. This doesn’t change the overall vibe of the track too much, but it does herald the arrival of more musical goodness. This is then flipped on its head with the lush breakdown which is then all tied together again towards the end of the track.
