For the next instalment of our Free Download series, we welcome our first Greek artist in BODJ. Having cut quite a striking figure, Giorgos Zachariou has an enviable discography that grows bigger by the month. With a solo rap sheet that includes top labels such as Subsequent, Tesselate, EWax, OGE, Visionquest, Oldivibes, and this is just the arsenal he has in his own artist name. BODJ is also part of the duo Adult Sonics, and together alongside Roksi they are building a well-respected brand of tech house.
Stripped back from the outset, “The 5th Element” is a muscular slab of house music with a seriously techy edge. A pitched-down arpeggiating bassline sets wheels in motion that takes the track down a darker path, but one that is not devoid of light. The light comes via a super string, and while for a second it is glorious it is tinged with a menacing air that will suit more serious peak time floors nicely. With plenty of bomb tracks like this in his locker we highly recommend that you dig a little deeper once you get to know this Free Download from BODJ.
