The music scene unites in support of Ukraine – a list of initiatives

    With the advent of the Russia’s ongoing and unprovoked attack of neighbouring Ukraine and their sovereignty, the electronic music community has immediately sprung into action.

    A slew of fundraising events and concepts have poured in from all corners of the world and we have collated some projects that are deserving of your support…

    These are added in the chronological order we found them, and the feature will be updated regularly. Please do not hesitate to flag any initiative that deserves to be mentioned, and we will update this piece – you can send at info[at]trommelmusic[dot]com or add it in the comments.

    12 March 2022 update

    Guerrilla Bizzarre gathered a mammoth 60+ compilation with all proceeds of sales going to the International Committee of the Red Cross

    Thursday in Brussels took place “United For Ukraine”, an open air event which was attended by more than 4,000 people and that raised the astonishing amount of EUR 100,000.00 with all proceeds going to underground4ukraine.org

    Six tracks previously released on Undersound Records are now joint together and repackaged in a charity VA for Red Cross Ukraine

    Two new unreleased tracks and two digitally unreleased tracks from Cabaret Recordings are now up for sale to gather funds in support of humanitarian causes in Ukraine

    Feeder.ro unveiled a VA compilation to raise money for UA artists – among the names involved Maayan Nidam, Nils Weimann, Paul K, Pirvu and more

    Gene On Earth released a new track with profits going to Ukrainian refugees. Head to Gene Bandcamp page

    Picnic is donating all their profits of their upcoming MS Hoppetosse event to support people of Ukraine

    The team behind ∄ created a project aiming to provide support to the musical and cultural community in Ukraine

    This Sunday 13 March 2022, New York City music community is coming together donating 100% of the proceeds to the Ukraine cause

    Twenty between clubs and promoters, including Meanwhile, are organising “The Night Rises”, a fundraising event taking place on 19 March in Amsterdam

    Checkpoint and other Barcelona promoters are organising a fundraiser in Barcelona for Saturday 12 March 2022

    The united front of Ukrainian electronic music scene released a statement asking to boycott Russia. It is jointly signed by Closer, Brave! Factory Festival, PORT, Etapp Kyle, Daria Kolosova, CXEMA, ICKPA, Detali, Rhythm Büro, Night Ambassadors, Strichka Festival, Vladimir Gnatenko, ∄ team and many more

    Manchester promoters High Hoops, The Warehouse Project, Zutekh!, Homoelectric, Meat Free, Kiss Me Again Manchester, WeeDot. Presents: Mixing Mates, Animal Crossing, Freak Queer Rave, Frixxxion unite together for a charity event with 100% of proceeds to go towards assisting a range of humanitarian charities providing aid, supporting refugees and evacuations.     Vigilante and Zion present a live-streaming with Nastia, Connie and Morgan – originally intended for this year’s international women’s day, this project will now support the children affected by the war

    50% of all earnings from Planet Paradise next event will go to Berlin organisation that are in charge of logistics and relief supplies deliveries to Ukraine

    Paul Woolford aka Special Request provide a new track on his Bandcamp with proceeds allocated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Aid — specifically the International Committee of the Red Cross.

    Tresor is selling fundraising posters and will donate all profits to the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund

    Topper Bandcamp Friday sums will go to the Ukrainian cause

    All the monthly sales from The Press Group releases on Bandcamp will go to Caritas International

    Butter Side Up goes in support of SOS Ukraine donating 100% of profits from any BSU purchases on Bandcamp Friday

    Steve Heurta released a special track called Desire and is donating all proceeds to charities in Ukraine – the track sold more than EUR 250 so far according to a screenshot posted by Steve

    Youandewan own Small Hours is donating all proceeds made on Bandcamp Friday to Ukrainian charities

    MEOKO unveiled a compilation with music from Floog, Giorgio Maulini, Iuly.B, Lulla, Macarie, Peshka, Szafran and Togue’ to support the

    MINDHELMET original plan was never to go on the digital realm but the full catalogue is now being made available digitally for the first time to help support the cause. 100% of Bandcamp sales will be donated to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

    LeGram VG prepared a live in-store streaming in order to raise as much as possible the people of Ukraine. All donations are going to Proliska, a humanitarian mission to help the civilians affected

    FUSE and Enzo Siragusa released a Bandcamp only track, Equinox. They will be donating all the proceeds to the Disaster’s Emergency Committee in aid of the Ukraine Crisis.

    03 March 2022

    Lobster Theramin are looking for tracks for an upcoming fundraising VA. The release will be part of the next Bandcamp Friday and all profits the compilation will go to Ukrainian charities and humanitarian organisations. More info can be found here and you can submit a track here.

    Much loved selector Jane Fitz has also stepped up to do her bit for the war situation where she has uploaded some exclusive sets recorded in Ukrainian clubs. These sets will only be available after a donation has been made to a selection of worthy causes on her Instagram. For the price of latte (£3 in London) you can stream the mixes and for £10 you can download them. Full details are on Jane’s Instagram page.

    A very active member on the scene Dr Banana will be donating all profits from this weekend to a selection of support funds. So, make sure you support the doctor to support Ukraine.

    Voigtmann will be very kindly be donating 100% of all proceeds until the war is over, not only Bandcamp friday’s profits. Weekly donations will be made to CARE to ensure the timely arrival. With a sick back catalogue from his own productions as well as Subsequent the offer is substantial and you can check the selection here.

    Swedish crew Northern Electronics have created a fundraising VA where all profits will go directly to UNICEF Ukraine. For the meagre sum of $15 you can get your hands on tracks from the likes of Voiski, Marco ShuttleDorisburg, Donato Dozzy. Details can be found on their Bandcamp.

    With Berlin clubs reopening two venues will be banding together to gift the proceeds from their doors to help their Ukrainian brothers and sisters. DJ Pipe will be connecting factor between the two events where he will be playing Renate on Friday evening and Monday with The Ghost crew alongside Ethel, Laurine, Cecilio and a special guest will be playing live. DJ Pipe will also be putting up a significant portion of his fee to boot.

    Sticking with Berlin and The MUDD Show returns for another top show with a view to support the Ukrainian people. Providing the music will be an all-star cast that includes 192 Gmbh, Alec Falconer, Christian AB, Enchanted Rhythms, Omar, Onirik, Robin Ordell and Vera. Donations will be encouraged and promoted throughout the show at KMA60 via Paypal in aid of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

    In the coming week American artist Roustam will be creating a non-profit organisation for Ukrainian artists, musicians and DJ’s. If you would like to get involved please get in touch with Roustam via his Instagram page.

    Ukrainian party brand Cxema have called for the support of their armed forces by their support of a recently opened special account by National Bank of Ukraine. With the fight for their sovereignty poised to be a long and expensive one every little penny helps with this cause. You can donate what you can here and more info can be found their Instagram page.

    We recently helped to lay out the plans for Pleasure Club’s birthday celebrations. In light of the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine they have confirmed they will be donating all profits from their birthday events to savelife.in/ua. With the mini UK tour producing several sets from DJ Masda there will be ample opportunity to do your bit.

    Eya Records’ Jos will be presenting the recording of his set from Kultura Zvulka from back in August of last year. The set will air on Netil Radio and if you would like to donate you can head to this supersite.

    The dutch team of SlapFunk, VBX and Lofi have also confirmed that all profits from their opening weekend events will be donated to the people of Ukraine. Ticket holder will be advised in the coming weeks. More info can be found on their respective Instagram pages.

    Waking Life has also helped contribute to a massive resource named underground4ukraine. Participating venues that are dedicating a night throughout March in solidarity with Ukraine will be able to share their information on these pages also.

    Resident Advisor, Secretsundaze and fabric will be combining produce a star-studded project in aide of Ukraine’s fight against Russia. ‘Streaming for Ukraine’ will feature sets from Giles Peterson b2b Jamz Supernova, Jane Fitz b2b Carl H, Secretsundaze, Daniel Avery, Danielle b2b Parris, Shannen b2b Ikonika, Fabio and Grooverider and Craig Richards. The will be  raising funds to be equally distributed amongst Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal, Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser, Ukrainian charity Sunflower Of Peace and Black Is Polish.

    One of Ukraines most prolific artists iO (Mulen) will supporting his brothers and sisters this Bandcamp Friday by donating all money he gains from his label. The funds will then be donated to the Ukrainian Army. More info can be found at the artist Bandcamp.

    The Pickle Factory will also be raising funds for the war effort with part one coming on on Thursday, March 10th and will see sets from Shanti Celeste & Moxie, Dr Banana & Jossy Mitsu and regulars Hamish & Toby. Part two will come on Sunday, March 13th with sets from Nicolas Lutz, Jane Fitz and Carl H and Junkie Inoue. All proceeds will go to aid Ukraine.
