Malta’s electronic music scene doesn’t get much more tasteful than that which is served by Sunny Side Up (SSU). Their tongue in cheek promotions have blossomed over the years, fed by a recipe for the dance that delivers on character, comfort and an ever unique style. And that’s before the music has even started. Centered around the most inviting fried egg you ever saw, breakfast rolls into brunch at their Sunday all dayers. The latest announcement sparks a special collaboration, that is quite simply and delicately described as next level shit…
Teaming up with the SSU crew this time round is none other than Parisian outfit Yoyaku. As a record store, its one of the most recognisable, famous for their instore sessions that continue to host the finest artists on the French scene and beyond. Extended into a booking agency that features a bunch of favourites representing, this is a name you will so often find spreading the sounds across Europe. Firm fixtures at the likes of Caprices, Night Tales, Les Enfants and CDV and for good reason too. This will be the first time touching down in Malta and they’re bringing two of their best along for the occasion.
There isn’t a name more synonymous with Yoyaku than Janeret, an artist who has been there since the beginning. He comes together with Lamache, equally as important at this stage, albeit joining the Yoyaku family a little later in the game. Both artists continue to represent the sounds of the store and record label. Deep, twisting grooves compliment sultry melodies with lashings of futuristic synth, a perfect concoction for a full day time of party that gets going from 10am. Sunday session commence on 6th August…
