The first thoughts that come to one’s mind when thinking about Spain are more often than not related to its year-round warm weather on the Mediterranean coast, its great cuisine, nightlife, and the vibrant lifestyle of the locals; and rightly so. But the charming Iberian country is much more than that. Rich in natural diversity, its landscapes range from river valleys to wonderful virgin forests, great mountain ranges and highland plateaus, impressive rugged cliffs, and renowned sandy beaches on its coastal regions and islands.
That said, if there is a region that has it all, it would certainly be Andalusia. And what better time of the year to come and explore its hidden gems than when there’s a top-notch music festival on the mountaintops to enhance your travel experience? This is where Sun & Snow steps in. Established in 2018, the festival celebrates its 6th edition this year between April 4th and 6th, and we’re as excited as you to reveal all the details about it.
With a self-explanatory name that says all you need to know about what you should expect there, the three-day mountain getaway will take place only 30km away from the enchanting city of Granada, in Sierra Nevada – a ski resort that offers no less than 110km of skiable slopes for the winter sports enthusiasts.
Even though Sun & Snow’s main focus is the blend of electronic music with winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding, being the only festival of its kind in Spain, the activities and facilities provided don’t end here. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy various workshops, several hiking trails waiting to be explored in the Sierra Nevada National Park, sleigh rides and slides in the snow, as well as a food court offering a wide selection of dishes for all tastes.
Now it’s time to get to the action and move on to the lineup announcement. This year’s edition is probably the most promising one, as it comes with lots of new internationally renowned names, such as Romanian legend Raresh, Uruguayan key figure Nicolas Lutz, Japanese masters DJ Masda and Fumiya Tanaka, Italian icons Francesco Del Garda, Quest, and Gabbs, Berlin-based Christian AB, and many others who will take over Sierra Nevada for an unforgettable weekend. The artists will perform on three dedicated stages: Altitude, Igloo, and the Mountain Club.
