Following the success of the inaugural Sumdayz festival in 2022 they return to illuminate Rome’s iconic Ippodromo Cappanelle this September with a stellar lineup across 3 days. Come 22nd-24th September, Sumdayz will be bringing together the energy of Rome’s local scene with the diversity of an international crowd.
Those who made it to last year’s event will know that partying outdoors in Rome is worth the price of the ticket alone. However, with appearances from likes of Apollonia, Jeremy Underground, tINI, Traumer, Onur Özer, Sugar Free, Christian AB, and Praslesh you know there is a lot more reason to cop a ticket. The lineup also saw Italian powerhouses Gianmarco Orsini and Quest onboard as well as rising native talents KOKO and Fabrizio Sala.
Phase 1 of 2023’s edition has just been announced, seeing veteran Fabric resident Craig Richards playing back-to-back with Italian maestro Francesco Del Garda, a live set from the inimitable Mathew Jonson and a DJ set from the highly sought French whizz Sweely.
House heads will be ecstatic to see Dungeon Meat, back-to-back sets from both Dyed Soundorom and tINI, as well as Samuel Deep and Doudou MD, not to mention people’s favourites Laidlaw and Harry McCanna. CHKLTE also joins the bill, serving up his groove-laden minimal house flavours.
Rhadoo will be catering for the minimal lovers, bringing his usual dark hours delicacies that never fail to amaze. And looking back to last year something tells us he might not be the only Romanian to grace the decks at the Ippodromo this September.
Also announced are Outcast Torino honchos Alex Dima and Munir Nadir, hot off the press of their b2b at UNUM festival, this time round they are joined by fellow Italian Cristian Sarde combining to form a tricolore tri-fecta. This year will feature a debut from Italian DJ and producer Yaar Kü who has been making waves across the scene, as well as the return of fellow native wave-maker Fabrizio Sala.
SUMDAYZ crew’s in-depth knowledge of the scene is apparent as they have gone beyond just the big names and have called upon the skills of lesser-known selectors whose merit is exemplified by the quality of their work. Falling into this bracket are the likes of Brazilian power producer and DJ, Gabbs, as well as London-based dynamic duo Desuba who have made their talents known through their residency at Goosebumps alongside appearances at top parties across the capital.
This thoughtful curation will ensure that energy is high whilst catering to varying tastes across the two stages.
