Having had a rather busy summer schedule including their 7th birthday back in July with Floog, Vera, Miller, and Laidlaw Set One Twenty are back at London’s 93 Feet East. Over the years, the collective has told the tale of 2 cities – Leeds and London and this has meant them working with the scenes very best in Ricardo Villalobos, Nicolas Lutz, Rhadoo, Zip and that is just a few of the names that have appeared on the sterling line-ups that Set One Twenty have curated over the years. From their heavy rotation at Mint Club and Mint Warehouse there are few crews that have been as pivotal in the north of England in recent years.
On Saturday, December 7th Set One Twenty will return to London’s 93 Feet East and they will be doing what they do best and that is throwing some downright amazing parties. Joining residents Perrin, JJ Mowbray and Bond & Proctor will be 2 artists that easily lay claim to being the hardest working artists in the business. First is Point Of View head honcho Giuliano Lomonte, over the last 18 months Giuliano has gone from rising star to headliner and has released some of minimal’s defining tracks along the way. From his own label to releases on Harlo, Pressure Traxx and his summer Sunwaves weapon ‘Civil Stretch’ with Einzelkind Lomonte has cropped up at all the right parties and rightly so.
Next is young gun Michael James, a focused artist that cut his teeth on Burnski’s Constant Sound label before swiftly moving through the ranks of minimal’s groovier shades with standout releases for the likes of Hoarder, Rowle and Mulen Records. As a result, this has seen Michael turnout for the likes of One Night Stand at DC10 in Ibiza, S.A.S.H. in Sydney and the co-pro between Forms and One Night Stand at fabric in London.
Completing the line-up is Miriam Records artist Benson Herbert, having inaugurated the party brands’ new imprint earlier this year with his ‘Ants’ EP Benson is currently riding a wave that the rising star has created himself. Having opened for Giuliano Lomonte earlier this year at Miriams 1st birthday Benson nicely closes the loop of groove-based ingredients to this promising party. The only other aspect not to have been mentioned is the fact that it’s all taking place one of Shoreditch’s finest venues in 93 Feet East and we all know how special the atmosphere can be there. As I am sure you will agree this looks to be a nice little winter warmer to keep the cold at bay.
