Sarcus Festival continue to innovate with homegrown lineup

With an often-overhanging urge to import rather than innovate within a home scene, it is refreshing to see crews such as those associated with Sarcus Festival in France and the twinned event series La Maison Sarcus to look within its own country for emerging and established talent to populate their line-ups. France is and has for a long-time been an immensely well-represented country when it comes to great house and techno events and of course, the artists that perform at them are rightly getting the exposure that they deserve at these gatherings. Due to the immensely innovative, inclusive, and disconnected nature of Maison Sarcus and Sarcus Festival only homegrown talent is invited to play at them.

Last year’s Sarcus Festival main event took place on the grounds of the medieval Château-monastère de la Corroirie and more than lived up to its aim of disconnecting from the world as it is surrounded by nothing but rolling green fields on all sides. Over the course of the 3-day event, performances included sets from established and up and coming French artists such as Le Loup (also with Hold Youth), Brawther, Janeret, Varhat, RA+RE (Charlotte, Ethel, Melody, Rohmi.) Gabriel Ayela (Libertine), Dawidu, and there was even a live set from real OG Carl Finlow.

Sarcus Festival will again be taking place Château-monastère de la Corroirie between Friday, September 18th, and Sunday, September 20th  and it will continue to be their home for the foreseeable future. The first wave of French artists out the hat has already been confirmed as being Eliott Litrowski, FASME (Live), Joren, MAD REY, Make It Deep b2b Into the deep, Myako, Pardonnez-nous and The Pilotwings (Live Band). A fresh batch of French artists has now been added to the lineup in the shape of ANTAM, Automatic Writing (Guillermo Jamas, Darween, Jacan), Beau Mot Plage, Charlotte & Rohmi, Hicham, Roommates, and Sweely will also be performing live. For a getaway festival experience with a distinctly French flavour look no further than Sarcus Festival.
