The Lima-born electronic music platform signals a new era, with a major announcement set for December 5.
What began as a weekly night in a Lima club has grown into one of Peru’s most influential electronic music brands. After more than twenty years of building spaces for dance music, 4Beats has announced that it is formally becoming a non-profit cultural association, and that its work will now reach well beyond the dancefloor.
The story starts in 2005 with Jueves de Electrónica, a Thursday series held at the venue Gótica. In 2009, the team chose to leave the single-venue model behind and take its parties to new settings and formats.

Over the following years, 4Beats introduced several concepts that were fresh for the local scene. Summer Vibes brought electronic music into the daylight, while the 4Beats Anniversaries and Sun Grooves moved gatherings outdoors, into natural landscapes. Rebel Rave took the party to the coast. The most ambitious project was Inti Fest, billed as the first festival in Peru to combine electronic music with an ecological and cultural mission.
The collective says more than 150 international acts have shared line-ups with Peruvian talent at its events, adding up to over 1,160 hours of music on the dancefloor.
The roster of guests between 2005 and 2026 spans house, techno and beyond. Among those who have played for 4Beats are Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Nicolas Jaar, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Magda, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia, Damian Lazarus, Dixon, Guy Gerber, Luciano, Bob Moses, Josh Wink, Steve Bug and Wolf + Lamb, along with dozens of others.
In 2023, the organisers moved toward a more intimate format. Daytime gatherings returned at Hacienda Los Ficus in Pachacámac, alongside the Pop Ups, a series of itinerant events staged in different locations.

The team says the values behind the project have not changed. Community, openness and safe spaces free from exclusion or division remain the foundation, with the stated aim that people of any sexual orientation, gender, race, or social or political background can find a place to create, enjoy and share. In the organisers’ words, the dancefloor belongs to everyone.
The latest step is the most significant structural change in the project’s history. Music will stay at the core, but 4Beats says it plans to widen its scope by sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, encouraging collaboration and supporting the continued growth of electronic music culture in Peru. Becoming a non-profit cultural association gives that mission an official footing.
“Evolving has always been our destiny,” the team says in its press materials, describing the move as a beginning rather than a conclusion.
The next chapter will be revealed on December 5.
