The foundations of the Paris underground are still rattling after Outdom Records last outing. Rex was treated to an old-school lesson in bass fuelled energy by the recently assembled team of Z@p, the Distrikt Paris duo of Le Loup and Blanco) and label talisman Latent. For those that were not on the dancefloor that night you have a point of reference in Latent’s addition to his own debut vinyl release.
Upping the ante considerably with their upcoming party at Petit Bains on Friday, April 28th, the crew from Paris have delved into a corner of their future retro influences. Taking major cues from the super upfront house sound of the UK, Outdom have collected together a refreshing clutch of acts for their next meeting. This will see Leeds based act Peaky Beats making his French debut and we think there is little chance of this not being a regular occurrence. His Bandcamp is THE place to go for the lowest bass lines in the scene and so will Petit Bains this night.
Next up is the Aurore 404 crew and they are more than just a like-minded collection of friends. They themselves are currently stomping their own attitude laden way through the 90’s inspired underground. Their cabal of associated labels is worth a serious deep dive and they will be taking control of the second stage all night long. Calling upon members and collaborators such as cfds (label manager & DJ), Pepe Elle (one of the main UKG & Dubstep figures of France), Studerkel B2B bptkr & Moudy.
Outdom Records residents Latent and DJ Opinel will have the momentous task of playing the first and last record of the whole gathering. Latent blew minds at Rex last month and he is more than capable of burning the house down at Le Petit Bain. DJ Opinel is of course the UKG / Speed Garage alias of Retrolog and that is a formidable locker of tunes to call upon come the business end of the rave. Not forgetting the surprise special guest that is yet to be announced. That, mon frere et soeurs you will have to wait until the day of the event. Only then will Outdom reveal the final piece to their fuzzy puzzle
