Having premiered last year, MEF Festival took to the well worn, sun kissed cobblestones of Majorica and with it brought a new chapter in each associated brands history. Founded in 2022 by Maruxa Ceballos, Dani Casarano, Nacho Abascal and Erlin James, last year’s partners Melcure and Barcelona’s Mad Radio have now joined forces with Parisian crew Distrikt Paris, as well as Italian team Vncberg and the stunning host venue of La Roca.
The 2022 edition introduced the Majorcan local scene to a grass roots event that insists on keeping a local flavour while peppering their lineup with connected artists with an international reach. This meant that performances from Unai Trotti, Loa Szala, Pin, Apua, DJ Void, Charles, Caroo were all fantastically well received during the first edition.
For their next edition on Saturday, September 23rd MEF Festival will be taking over the perfectly sized La Roca, an artistic haven for culture and electronic music that features both an indoor and outdoor dancing area. It is these pristine spaces that will cater for the 22 international and local artists that will be providing the soundtrack across the 15-hour party. Now there is case of who will be entrusted with providing the musical gems and the menu will be curated by Abscal, Avo, Blanco, Bonzai (Josh Calo & Henny), Charlotte, Dani Casarano, Dietrich, Dorian, Paic, Escko, Erlin James, Felipe Valenzuela, Giammarco Orsini, Le Loup, Mark, Michele Preda, Nico Erorena, Omar Akhrif, Onoffon, Pau Perez, Sueezo, and Vera.
As well as the undoubted high grade musical program across the two stages there will be all the usual trappings of a lovingly crafted boutique festival which includes a variety of experiences. From a vintage clothing market, to artistic interventions, visual experiences, gastronomic offerings based on local produce all set to the fading rays of the summer sun that Mallorca is so famed for.
