Lowkey Recordings launch alongside Rokoko with a joint 20-hour trip in Budapest

Many record labels launch their project with a carefully crafted release or a VA, not Low Key Recordings. Being anything but low key, this project will firs of all launch by way of an impressive 20-hour journey at Budapest’s expansive Playground club. In a collaboration with local legends Rokoko, who have not long celebrated their fifth birthday are old heads at throwing the finest parties around.

The extended launch event that will take place at Budapest’s Playground venue on Saturday, April 8th and it will be sectioned off into two time zones. Beginning late on the Saturday night the trip will take shape in the club section of Playground by way of a warm-up from Octile and Korosi who will play b2b before Jemmi takes over edging ever closer to the morning hours. Here is where the magic really begins to unfold.

Taking us into the sunlight times will be a morning set from Gojnea76 aka Romanian bad man producer G76. His productions buck the trend of Romanian minimal du jour and are more akin to pitch black garage, subterranean minimal techno and of course the more emotive side of reduced house. The self-released tools and productions for the likes of Nervmusic, Playedby, and Castanea Records all find their way into the bags of the major players and for very good reason. Closing out the club area will be sound tracked by Turkish artist Baban whose own gem productions can easily populate his whole set.

This is where the energy sees a considerable shift as the party moves out onto the terrace where awaiting will be Argentinian maestro Alexis Cabrera who will perform live. The open-air nature of the second leg will lend perfectly to Cabrera’s vocal musings coupled with his tightly programmed beats. With tracks in his locker on labels such as Atipic, Raum…music, Point Of View, Yaji, and his own Fun Records the options available for this special three hour set is mouth-watering. Taking over from Alexis will a pair of b2b from Jalo & Merem and Rokoko regulars Martin M and Flixon before Raphael Merheb closes the ceremony with an extended four-hour set. There will of course be a slew of sounds coming from the label arm in the near future, but if this launch party is anything to go by there is all manner of musical magic waiting to be unleashed.
