Loud-Contact celebrates 15 years with a huge Sonar week program

Barcelona’s electronic music scene is set to come alive once again during Sonar Week, and the Loud-Contact crew will be right at the heart of it. Having long since cemented themselves as one of the city’s biggest event brands, they’re set to be involved in a series of unmissable parties. From intimate club nights to the large-scale outdoors.

As per usual, ZT Hotel Villa Olimpica will play a pivotal part in the fixtures. Over the course of the week, Loud-Contact will be collaborating with several others. Wednesday’s speciality brings in Modern Funktion, who have none other than Dungeon Meat man Tristan Da Cunha, as well as Max Dean and a live from Garrett David. Half Baked is bringing a hand-selected crew made up of Dyed Soundorom b2b Gene on Earth, Laurine and Sam Bangura before Loud Contact themselves close out the week with their own celebration – 15 Years of Rave.

Looking further afield, the Spanish party starters will also be teaming up with Berlin-based agency Solid AM, who are bringing their ever admired Return series. These events have become synonymous with top-tier bookings from the German underground, and their Barcelona link-up at Wolf Club is set to be something special. The lineup is still under wraps, but given the caliber of past Return events, there will no doubt be a host of expert selectors leading a journey into the sound.

On Friday comes one of the most anticipated gatherings of the week: FRRC with Ricardo Villalobos at Castell Ben Viure. This stunning venue, with its sprawling grounds and breathtaking visuals courtesy of Dreamrec Productions, provides one of the most idyllic settings for an open-air sonic journey. FRRC, in collaboration with fabric, brings together a lineup stacked with the finest. Alongside Ricardo Villalobos himself, the bill features Raresh, Zip, Craig Richards, John Talabot, Francesco Del Garda, Nicolas Lutz, Vera, and ever-present resident Lumiere — a lineup that brings together the usual suspects along with some exciting FRRC debuts.

Marking the 15 year milestone deserves a double celebration, with Sunday’s day session at ZT continuing at Wolf Club for part two. All the regulars are invited, with music soundtracked across the two venues by Francesco Del Garda, Gabbs, Anah, Nicolas Lutz, Binh, Quest (IT), Christian AB, and Lumiere. These usual suspects have become like family for Loud-Contact’s own event series and they know the sound inside and out. Expect high emotions and the finest grooves.

Sonar Week is always an explosion of music, energy, and connection, and Loud-Contact continue to be a driving force in shaping its underground. Keep an eye out for updates, as there’s still plenty more to be revealed. As usual, this is one week full of parties that should not be missed.
