Lebanese gathering Aegis Festival prepares their upcoming debut weekender

Lebanon has always been a key location for electronic music with a rich and varied lineage that covers a vast spectrum of genres. Artists of a minimal persuasion have been visiting the Middle Eastern enclave for many moons and its enviable climate and party focused inhabitants there is always a good time nearby. As great as the club scene is in Lebanon there has been somewhat of a rough patch when it comes to festivals.

This is something that will be most certainly solved by the upcoming three-day celebration of the spiritual side of dance music – Aegis Festival. Running from Friday, April 21st through to Sunday, April 23rd this two stage affair will take place in the picturesque Arnaoon Village. The sleepy miniature town will be transformed into a bustling haven for those looking to recapture their own self at the same time as catching some of the biggest names in the business.

Each day’s action will be split into two distinct stages with big ticket names taking over the mainstage and underground heroes populating the Groove Garden stage. Day 1 kicks kicks off from the very beginning on the Main Stage with Peggy Gou, Ryan Elliot, and Maher Daniel whose appearance will be a homecoming occasion of sorts. Over at the alternative stage there will be the first brand collab of the festival with French all-star’s Yoyaku joining forces with Famtôme De Nuit and A Tribe Called Tribe. This will result in a serious lineup that includes Sonja Moonear, Janeret, Lamache, and Miroloja supported by 3lias b2b Raphael Merheb, Nesta, and Zeina.

Day 2 continues in the same high calibre fashion with the mainstage bowing to the expertise of Âme and the Neapolitan master Marco Carola, support will come via Anthon, Citizen Kain, and a b2b set from Romax and Tia. With the obvious draw of the mainstage and the heavy hitting headliners there will be plenty to turn your head towards the burgeoning Garden setup. Meanwhile, retrogroove will be facing off against Nacelle and this will result in varied and wide ranging sets from Dan Shake, Paula Tape, Allen Behlok, and Misty. Later that day it will be down to brass tacks and with the adventure in the Groove Garden nearing its end Somewhere… and Distrikt Paris will be stepping in to rise the temperature. The decks will be handed over to Binh, Voigtmann, as well as Bassam, Dennes Deen, and Ronin.

Ensuring that there is plenty in the tank for day 3 and all the action will be focused on the Main Stage where all eyes will be on the superb liver performance of Viken Arman. His slow slung style perfectly sums up the spiritual aspect of Aegis Festival and he will be supported by Upercent, HK, Hrag Mikkel, and Solarquest. This more spiritual side to the festival will see mind expanding activities playing a major part in the festivities. With restoration, introspection, and self-discovery being just as important as the musical exponents during this weekend there will be ample opportunity to meditate and calm the mind. The body and mind can benefit from and collection of sports, adrenaline activities, yoga and wellness. As this is an inclusive 360 getaway gathering there is no need to leave this beautiful site as there are many accommodation options. From luxurious private house, hotels, camping and even camper vans there will be no need to miss a single piece of the action.
