Tunisia is fast becoming a hotspot for weekend-long destination clubbing and with a crop of festivals, making this a reputable go-to for those looking for electronic music and fun in the sun. With an already successful edition under their belts, Fantasy Festival returns to Hamammet for their second edition with an even bigger and more in-depth offering.
Taking place at the lush seaside resort of Hotel Omar Khayam between 9-11 May, Fantasy Festival aims to be much more than just a festival. With a focus on providing fresh impetus to the burgeoning Tunisian club scene, the serene sandy beaches will be paired with high-octane party antics that Fantasy has become known for. Making full use of all corners of the resort, as well as the world class artists that are part of this year’s edition, there will also be a range of activities across the weekend that include workshops, art installations, and immersive spaces that are all designed with the sole focus of providing festivalgoers with an unforgettable experience and welcome them into the universe that this creative team have dreamed up.
Now down to the main focus of Fantasy Festival, and that is the music and what a menu they have prepared for the occasion. A mainstay of the gathering all points to harnessing the blossoming talent that the region has to offer as well as international artists that our scene has come to regard as the finest in the game. One of the most in-demand artist of the moment (and for a while now) is Romanian wizard Dan Andrei, and being part of the [ar:pia:r] stable does not come likely, and the calibre of his productions and DJ sets speaks for themselves.
He will also be joined by similarly talented names DJ Pipe & Taslo, Hamish & Toby, Hitch, KRN, and Laylla Dane who all arrive in Tunisia with a lifetime of skills and unbeatable tracks. We have mentioned before the wealth of talent to be found in Tunisia alone and festival organisers Aziz Ziouziou, Dali Chebili, and Zaidoun Aouina (Zaida) will be leading the charge, backed up by a cast of regional artists. As you will see by checking the images frmo last year, the visual offering is just as important to the overall experience as the music, and in charge of these mind bending graphics will be Kollab Agency.
When needing a break from the soundtrack of the two Funktion One powered stages, Fantasy Festival has also carefully curated a range of chill-out zones where attendees can relax and enjoy what the resort has to offer. Unlike some festivals, the onus is on enjoying the full experience and the plush onsite accommodation is just a stone’s throw away from the action.
