Despite what you might think, you don’t necessarily need to be at the coast to find a beautiful beach. The French city of Lyon might be over 300km inland. However, you only need drive 20 minutes out of the centre, before you find yourself at Plage de l’Atol. Evasion Festival have capitalised on this rather uncommon geographical circumstance. After returning to the space last year, they are well and truly back, ready to go again.
The annual event takes place across two days from 29th – 30th June, with a theme for the weekend showcasing up and coming talent from France, and beyond. Last year attendees topped 10,000, showing quite clearly that this is one of the most in demand events of its kind in the region. And with a hand picked selection of festival partners in attendance, the list of artists serving up the soundtrack is looking complete.
Four stages will set the scene across the two days. Nestled in a natural haven right on the river Rhone, the location brings white sandy beach, clear blue waters and huge green space. Expect the right balance of relaxing, rejuvenation and of course, hedonism. The line up this year is helmed by Jane Fitz, a highly acclaimed artist known for the unique energy that a timeless record collection brings with it. Whether it’s acid, techno or breaks, the sound is raw and epitomising of the party.
A host of other artists will join, including Cera Kahn, Doruksen, Hanaah Laing, Marie Montexier and Eargasm God. And if it wasn’t only for the music, the nature sport offers a range of activities, taking a break from the dance. Including an aqua park, zip line, beach volleyball and plenty of chill-out spots and bars, this really is an all rounder. That being said, electronic music remains at the heart – prepare for a sun soaked weekend of sound at Evasion.
