tINI has been nothing short of unstoppable over the past 15 years as she has traversed the world. Via her tINI and the Gang series of parties, the German tastemaker has made certain that when she is in town there is always a party to call home. That is exactly what her parties feel like – home. She always ensures that there is always an element of familiarity to her parties, with that being the top flight guests that she brings on board with her, or even just the fact that you will always find her familiar blonde curled locks bouncing about behind the decks. It is always about extending that warm invitation to all.
Lisbon has always held a very special place in tINI’s heart and rightly so. The weather, the people, and the approach to partying never ceases to amaze. There is also the city itself. Steeped in history and still bearing the architecture of a great city that prides individualism and creative expression over most things. There is also the venues and the hand picked location for this 12 hour adventure on June 12th is the delectable Carmo Rooftop.
Set high up amongst the terracotta rooftops, this intimate dance space is a prized location for a celebration and thats exactly what is on the cards when tINI and her gang roll into town. Leading the charge will be the Gang’s first lady tINI, and she will be joined by none other than Margaret Dygas. A constant shining light in the minimal cosmos, her recent roadblock set at Sunwaves and everywhere else she sets down her record bag is a constant reminder of this enigmatic artist’s gravitational pull.
Providing that local flavour is Lisbon’s own super star selectors in Jorge Caiado and Solid Funk. As well as running Carpet and Snares label, record store and distribution, Jorge is regularly called upon to set the tone for the finest parties in the area as well as being a constant force on the world scene. Solid Funk aka João Maria is similarly linked to the city and being co-founder of Collect and also founder of Assemble Music, João knows the musical landscape better than most.
Further cementing the Lisbon-centric lineup is French-born, Lisbon-based artist Penelope. Becoming a regular fixture around the world her touring schedule has been taking her far and wide for quite some time. Completing the party will see a live set from Lucas and a DJ set from Kee_Ko, being the booker of Carmo Rooftop, his credentials are beyond reproach. So the stage is set for an almighty Saint Anthony’s Day celebration.
