The temperature may be starting to settle in Abu Dhabi, but the Boogie Box Festival is coming in hot. This open air, family friendly event is celebrating 15 years of hosting parties and festivals in the region. A bittersweet celebration you might say, as this will also be their last in the capital.
For such a momentous occasion, the closing event will gracefully be held back where it all started – at the Hudayriyat Island on the Hudayriyat Beach. Special memories are certain to resurface, as nostalgia meets acclamation. At the same time, it’s a moment to make new ones, that can be cherished in the years to come.
On Saturday 2nd November, Boogie Box Festival will set up on those sun-kissed shores for the as usual impressive duration of 16 hours. This mammoth session gives the space for DJs to take extended sets. An opportunity to really delve deep and showcase their sound.
It’s also the perfect amount of time to enjoy the temperate changes as the day goes on. From the warmth of the afternoon, to the star lit skies at night, right back into the sunrise of the morning. As is usual for the festival, they are making the most of a truly serene spot. An exquisite place for the dance.
The music will be split across two stages. Focusing on a bigger room sound set to bring the higher energies, stage one is to led by three headliners. All making their UAE debut including DJ Boring, known for digging deep for unknown treasures blending into the better known bangers, the Australian artist will be joined by Dekmantel favourite Young Marco and the ever present Adiel.
Stage two promises to offer a more stripped back sound. Deeper, darker and more diverse, the musical program here will see a headline slot from none other than Hunee.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a family affair without the support of the more locally based artists. Across both stages you’ll find delectable talents Tarek Barada, Parvane, Nesta, Omar Fayyad and Maks. The Boogie Box residents will also be in toe, featuring Hani J, Hassan Alwan, Ricardo De Menesis and Shadi Megallaa.
A 16 hour session should be well catered for and the festival has certainly made sure of it. With it’s own Food and Market area, you can expect a diverse selection of food and drinks. All produced by home grown vendors. As has often been the case in previous editions, the experience extends from the music. Aside from the culinary, you’ll be able to immerse in art, photography and more.
The organisers also continue their promise to be sustainable. This consistent strive to limit the carbon impact follows on from a previous commitment to apply zero single use plastic at the festival. It’s always refreshing to see a focus on remaining environmentally friendly and Boogie Box will deliver on this to the very last moment.
Early Bird and Second Release tickets have already sold out, but you can pick up General Admission now for 250 AED (approximately 52.50 EUR).
