From the mind of ERROR404 label head Sancturu comes the “The Last Romantic” EP and what follows is three original works plus a power remix from Light Blue File.
We head straight for title track “The Last Romantic” and staying true to the track name, there is a large dollop of mysticism in the wiggling synths at work here. First of all is the thick bassline that drips from every pour of the track. An 80s love ballad pumped full of future retro energy, don’t be too misty eyed as this is an absolute killer.
Elsewhere on side A Lourene lends her breathy vocals extremely well to the moody pitch black synthy dreamstate that is “Extravagancia”. With the grooves kept to a minimum, there is plenty of room for the excellent synth work to fully realise its potential.
Head to side B and “Nastysanty” is waiting for you with more glutinous bass tones and a progression of the synth themes laid out on side A. Notes glide over the next while the breaky grooves ensure that the dancefloor is not taken away on a whirlwind of sound. Completing the package is a reworking of “The Last Romantic” from man on the move Light Blue File. Redirecting the barrage of retro keys into a more club ready route.
