Beginning their flight into their secret universe is new outfit Third Space and for their maiden voyage label co-head Miguel Seabra has cooked up something rather special. As well as the two original works by his own fair hands he has also brought on board Vern and Lulla to remix a track a piece.
We being our deep dive into TS001V with “Point Of No Return”, a cosmic, acid flecked groover. While the original version is laidback and low slung, yet still packing a punch Vern on the flip takes the reverbing percussion and swirling atmospherics and dials these up to add more energy. Where the original leans on the rounded bass line for stability, Vern steps off this in order to explore a more percussive avenue with his version. The result is two very tidy versions of the same track that is almost impossible to choose from.
The second of Seabra’s tracks “Solitude”, is equally ethereal and utilises a deep probing bassline that searches the far reaches of the universe. Whether or not this exploration is met with an answer remains to be seen but we guarantee the journey is worth it. Lulla on the hand is more insistent in approach with firmer grooves, a reduced take on the synth sections and meaner basslines. This results in a much more dancefloor orientated direction that also adds in looped vocal chops that work especially well in adding another dimension.
TS001V from Miguel Seabra is now available to buy from Juno Records, Deejay.de, Clone, and Decks.de.
