It’s been over a year since Antoine Sy released on own BinarySound. That’s not to say the French label and events platform haven’t been super active in that time. As a standout season comes to a close, the next release is as much to celebrate as the packed out summer of events which it follows.
The residents have been at the fore, playing a host of parties through day and through night. With a weekly residency at the picturesque playground of Golf De Seignosse and an ever important presence at L’Escargot, there has been little time to rest.
Sy and the rest of the residents have kept dance floors in the region alight. Just a few days ahead of the KBANE closing (epic party on a golf course), the attention is brought back to the wax.
A bunch of the label family come together on this one, presenting a VA release from four individuals on The Deadline EP. Taking the Trommel premiere is Marius and his second contribution to the label, ‘Third Dose’.
Driven by fun fuelled melodies, this groovy house number comes packed with energy and feel good nature. Those frequenting BinarySound events no doubt heard this one at peak time, deep into the day.
The bassline is soft in pitch, a deep steady sequence bopping back and forth beneath a simple percussive rhythm. Melodies build onto one another. High pitched keys dance quickly over the top, echoing a pleasant shine while strings sing in unison. Deeper balance intertwines with added chord sequence, a combination catered to warmth.
