Rising Australian talent Dan Goul gives his take on a deep dub from New Jersey based dub techno stalwart Eric Louis. Primed for the dance floor, Goul’s remix delivers that late-night energy, sure to keep it pumping.
Dub-driven house and techno outfit Devilish Affair hit back with a tidy third output vinyl. Title track ‘Rolling Hills’ from label head Eric Louis is a deep, stripped-back affair, punctuated with dubby pads and classy motifs.
A2. features Dan Goul’s remix of ‘Rolling Hills’ as he takes it up a notch, a punchy kick leads the way with ethereal notes and pads in tow as they swirl and sway over techy percussion. The Australian artist has been going from strength to strength, with recent releases on some top labels like Berg Audio, MixCult and Pirka.
On the flip side, ‘Rolling Hills’ sees remix treatment from Thule artist OHM on the B1. with some rolling house grooves that chug alongside pads that ebb and flow as they create contrast with tightly programmed drums that really seal the deal.
Classic dub-techno sounds on the A2. from Tm Shuffle as ‘Rolling Hills’ gets the retrospective treatment for his ‘Dirty Dub’. Tool-type dubbyness that oozes grace and depth with themes from the original heard anew. This well-rounded slice of wax has already seen support from the likes of Andrey Pushkarev and Sacha Dive. It’s vinyl only so don’t miss out!
