With 2026 just around the corner, the collective behind the French label Skylax Records starts a new chapter with the launch of SUPREME STRIKER, a fresh sub-label aimed at pushing their vision forward. For its inaugural release, they teamed up with Quasar, a DJ and producer who previously made waves on Mellah #3 under the alias Arash & Quasar, alongside Salimjan, who joins the EP to bring his signature hypnotic sound on the final two tracks.
An Italo disco-leaning cut built around classic LinnDrum patterns and a retro aesthetic, “Ritmo Love”, the first track on side A, opens up the album with a charming ’80s sound with a subtle, modern twist. An arpeggiated bassline drives the groove, channelling its infectious energy.
Anchored by a groovy bassline, “Easy Flight” stays in constant motion through evolving fills that keep the energy alive. Arpeggiated synths weave in and out, adding undeniable charm and playful details.
An entrancing rhythm leads the way of “Forever In Memory”, pulling the listener into a more hypnotic headspace. Subtle layers and steady progression give the track a deep, immersive flow.
Carried by a melancholic yet hopeful melodic line, Quasar & Salimjan’s “Urkus” allows its lead synth take the spotlight. Puzzling vocal snippets drift through the piece, adding an emotional and slightly mysterious allure.
A bubbling acid bassline underpins “Alhamdu Limusik”, the second track in this format featuring Salimjan. A dreamy journey paired with sensual, floating vocals and a glitchy breakdown that disrupts the flow just enough to heighten its tension before pulling the listener back in.
