London-based producer Hardacre makes his debut on the freshly minted label detectionaudio with “Destination” EP, a four-tracker scheduled for release on September 19. The record is a bold statement of intent, channelling the raw spirit of UK rave, electro, and trance into a forward-leaning vision. Gritty basslines, acid flourishes, and cosmic textures run throughout, delivering “peak-time potency and maximum mind expansion.”
Today’s premiered track “Process” on A1 opens with an electro-infused groove, where gritty bass and sporadic vocal samples lay down the hook. The interplay between voice and low-end delivers an instant old-school charm, setting a raw, hypnotic tone.
Dominated by a forceful kick, “Cortex” on A2 steers listeners into its core using puzzling vocal samples. The rhythm locks in early, offering a trance-infused urgency underlined by enigmatic breaks.
Flipping over to the B-side and “Destination” explores a more trancey sound. Arpeggiated synths weave through 909 drums, while melodic keys and an acid lead bring a nostalgic and forward-looking atmosphere, filling the room with old-school dance-to-trance energy.
Closing the EP, “Planets” on B2 lays down a deep, spacey groove loaded with hypnotic acid bass and ambient pads that set the mood. Midway through, a subtle twist echoes back to the track’s opening motifs, tying the journey back to its origins.
