Barcelona based duo Fontana roll up with their second vinyl only release with a pair of fire edits and a pair of originals of equal heat. Let’s get into it.
Kicking off the EP, Fontana propels with A1 original works “Fire Burning”. The pumping grooves and deeply connective bassline does most of the heavy lifting throughout the track, but is when the uplifting local is introduced to the mix that things take a turn. The looping of the vocals really helps to build that intensity and give bigger impact to the groove that drops back in. Completing side A is dancefloor updating of Imagination’s “Music and Lights” and when looking for a disco tinged curve ball Fontana has you covered.
Side B has even more goodness awaiting, firstly “Baggage, the second of the two original tracks by Fontana. A beat inspired by the Chicago house of old, melds a playful French vocal that really adds to the bumpy groove. The dubby stabs that join the wiggly rhythms also add a certain hypnotic element. Completing the EP on B2 is “Mi Spoglio” and another updating for the modern floor, with smart sampling and looping the more off beat bangers can be found here.
