Raw Senses keeps up the momentum garnered from their previous two editions with another clutch of club tools. Featuring four original cuts from label head Raw Senses covering a range of moods designed for the floor.
We take aim at the last track on the EP first of all and “Ama Me” features the same distilled energy that is the focal point of the previous two chapters. Thick rounded bass tones and analog percussion are joined by sprightly hi hats to form the backbone of this upbeat groover. Synth stabs and vocal clips interject nicely along the way to add a bit of flavour while the main business is purposely kept to the bare minimum.
Taking things back to the beginning of the release, “Funk Exemplum” introduces RSM003 with a pummeling groove that is coloured with a filtered disco loop. This insistent beat is utterly relentless and makes good on its promise of offering of funk. Maintaining this energy, “Funk Odorem” also stays true to its titular roots and strikes through with a trumpet stabs and filtered key salvos.
Rounding out the EP is “Pisces Capit” and shifting in a different direction, the deep bassline still calls to the funk fueled content from the previous tracks but executes in a more low slung fashion. Finely produced percussion are set against the backdrop of chiming synth stabs and swelling synth pads. Quickly becoming a go to label for straight up house groovers with no fuss or fan fare. Only rock solid dancefloor heaters will be found here.
