With Colour Codes going great guns for around a year now and with some seriously great raves under their belts they have been able to really nurture their record label at the same time. The London outfit are shaping up to celebrate their first birthday (more on that later) but first of all they have the excitement of their fifth release from resident Cramer and his “Transcript” EP to contend with.
Our pick of the release is “Grain” and the stripped back nature of the beats lends itself extremely well to the deep probing bass tones. Winding back the grooves a bit has left just the right amount of space for the lush atmospherics to seep into the track. As well as the smart vocal chops adding that swagger we all know that it’s the space between the beats that is where the magic lies and going by their last few releases Colour Code have devised quite the winning formula.
This formula clearly carries over to their events which run in tandem with their releases and to coincide with CC005 they have their first anniversary on Saturday, December 2nd at Hackney Social. For the occasion they have an extended team sheet that includes Cramer, Djom, Oli Leal, From A To B, Christian Cole, and a headlining b2b from Locky and Aladdin.
CC005 will be available via Bandcamp shortly, and you can grab your tickets for Colour Codes 1st Birthday here.
