Founder of label SHUVT.resonance Frederick Ansgar has dug out a sweet spot in the spacey, groove-laden house sphere. His productions have been picked up by the likes of Chequered Wax, Roller Blaster, and of course his own imprint.
For the label’s fifth outing, Frederick has opted for a stripped-back atmospheric jam. On his ‘Beyond Pluto’ EP, he has crafted a rock-solid four-track package, and we have the cosmic ‘Alpha Centauri’ in full for your listening pleasure.
The rich pads that swell and bloom throughout lead out the track before sweetly tuned kicks really kick things up a notch. A series of percussive clicks and pops fill in the gaps to create a nicely syncopated groove that is maintained for the duration. The retro synth hits tie in nicely with the proto tech vibes that hark back to days well before minimal was even a dream.
Joining in is track 1 on the EP ‘Journey’ an equally epic synth packed excursion that also packs some serious sub bass into the equation. Add to that the ‘Garry The Alien’ which combines some blissed out synth and sonar pings and ‘Arrival brings it home with a sweet array of break beats and synth wiggles. Another great addition to the SHUVT discography that will surely add serious weight to both label and artists rep.
The ‘Beyond Pluto’ EP is now available via Beatport.
