Last month saw the launch of a new record label in the quaint coastal city of Trieste, Italy. VIBRA has wasted little time spreading the sounds of house in the region. Relledocs, who co-founded the label alongside fellow Trieste DJ DORSIA666, clearly has plenty up his sleeve. Already the pair are set to present the second release, only a month since the first.
It started with Relledocs’ own ‘Narcotico’ EP, which featured four of his own and a remix from Ibiza based August Artier. The second in the series drops today, another four tracker from Relledocs simply titled ‘Sydney’ EP. This is an artist crafting his sound in the right way, shaping his own platform as he goes.
So far each track comes without a title, so let the music do the talking. We present the EP opening track on the premiere.
Track 01 sets a very pleasant tone for the rest of the EP. Light and airy, this is no nonsense deep house fuelled in its entirety by one dreamy melody after another. Warm chords dance through the intro, leading the charge for the dreamy synth lines that follow.
The groove is simple, a bopping bassline that makes you want to move. Drum rhythm swings overhead, pattering rhythm cooly on top. But the growth in this one is all in the keys. Each break brings with it something new, and there’s a few of them. Filters feed soft feels, bells chime magical moments and stronger samples fuel the flame.
