One of the perks of sharing the same ideals and passions with someone is that these common interests can deepen the connection between two people, sometimes evolving into a lasting and fulfilling friendship. This is precisely the case for the iconic duo from DJ Service—Driahn and Silvente, two of Barcelona’s top-tier producers and selectors. Over the past decade, their shared love of electronic music has united them, leading to multiple collaborations and projects together, including their latest work: DJ Serviced Records.
DJ Serviced Records is the newest addition to the label market—a project made by DJs, for DJs, and curated with love by DJ Service which is off to a truly promising start with their first release – “At Your Service” EP. The record features no less than five different artists who have joined forces for this astounding debut record: Brian Topham aka Papolious Jones, Driahn and Jason, Ease Up George and Wisdom Water.
For today’s premiered track we have chosen Driahn and Jason’s “Ali Bei” on side B1 – a dreamy, joyous work of art that takes your mind to a happy place within its first seconds. The dreaminess of the intro is satisfyingly complimented by the vibrant bassline and spacey synths that follow shortly after, later accompanied by seductive female vocals that add character to the piece.
Flipping back to side A1, “The House of Boppulus Toppulus” by Papolious Jones is the absolute mood booster with its funky breaks and snappy synths, a total banger that won’t go easily unnoticed. The next track on the record is Wisdom Water’s “Acid Pop”, a club-ready masterpiece that makes you get up and dance in a heartbeat with its infectious melodic line and driving energy. We return to the B-side and Ease Up George’s “Around” on B2 closes up the EP on a slightly darker note than its album counterparts, but in a funky, charming way.
