Today, we’re diving into a split release on Baltidore Records featuring two standout Ukrainian producers: Koloniari, the label’s owner from Mariupol, and Komponente from Kupyansk, who you might remember from our Trance Pandemic premieres. Despite their cities being heavily affected by the war with Russia, these artists continue to create amazing music. Let’s explore their latest work.
“Mental Energy” by Koloniari is probably one of the most emotional tracks we’ve ever premiered. If you were vibing in the late noughties, this track will take you right back. It’s got that Justice, Kavinsky, Para One vibe with turbine-like sounds, heavy kicks, and buzzing electro layers over epic arpeggios. Where were you in 1992 2007?
Koloniari also opens the record with “Zodiax,” which starts with a lovely melodic intro before transforming into a Testarossa synth opera. Over on Komponente’s B-side, we dive into “Freedom 7,” which, while less epic in structure, follows the emotional threads laid out by Koloniari. And “Global Psychodelic” adds a touch of forest ambiance and lighter buzzing sounds, contrasting nicely with the A-side’s intensity.
The record is already available on Deejay or Moin Vinyl. You have all the links, so why wait?

This article was written in Ukraine. Ukraine is in the middle of the war with Russia right now. Would be great if you could donate to the biggest Ukrainian volunteer fund here. Also, you can pick any music initiative, that is also trying to help from our list here. We’ll be stronger together.
