It’s always nice to see when a label is welcoming wax into its world. Colombian outfit Noisy Neighbors have been serving up sounds on their digital platform since 2022. Their latest project The Hood marks the start of their vinyl journey, as they continue to look at new ways of showcasing talent from across the South American continent.
Label founders A. Naranjo and Emilio Mustafa will be joined on this one by long-time neighbors Donnie Cosmo and FI-LO. Bringing together a bunch of artists committed to the cause.
On the premiere, we present Cosmo’s contribution, ‘El Funk Del Espacio’. No doubt this one for the peak time dance floor, bursting with energy that builds from the first moment. Funk fueled groove dominates the bassline, primed with purring electro and cosmic sampling. Melodies dance the beat over, spiraling through synth patterns delivering a healthy injection of good feels.
The pleasantries emanate across all corners of the wax. A. Naranjo’s ‘The Adventures of Fuzz Aldrin’ opens the record with shimmering light, with nodes to the 90s cementing the taste. Emilio Mustafa continues things over onto the B side with ‘Pump Mafia’, a synth led bopper that combines choppy speech sample with a determined groove.
FI-LO closes out proceedings with the heavy hitting beats of ‘Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice’. Twisting and turning through growing textures, maintaining those high energies right through to the end.
