Alphaville Records is back here with another great EP. This time is made by Volen (New York, New York!) and focuses on 90s house, reimagined with some modern additions. Sounds interesting.
“Chia Pet” is the opener here, and you can’t think about a better EP opening than this. With these bouncy basslines, you’ll get hooked from the first second. And till the very last, with all these samples from the golden era of hands-up hip-house. Easily imagined heavy played during the festival season.
“Mista (Acid House Mega Mix)” totally continues the vibe. Just with a pinch of depth, hidden behind those Balearic piano riffs. “Coro 303 (Dub Mix)” takes us back to some GTA San Andreas radio stations (could be SF-UR, but also that new jack swing one, forgot the name). Finally, “Define Less” is the outro – veeeery slow piece from the same era. There’s also a digital bonus, “Oh, I Like That” – just as you can find out from its name – it’s gonna be sexy.
Just what you could expect from the label – another score. The record will be available soon at Juno, Deejay, or Decks, don’t slip on it!
